This will produce a transparent colored French Polish used in Antique Restoration and fine finishing.
To get a 2-pound cut add 250gm of flakes into a quart of (190 proof) Denatured Alcohol, OR 4 oz. of flakes into a pint (16 oz) of Denatured Alcohol. Add flake or alcohol to adjust the "pound cut" working viscosity. Strain through layers of cheesecloth or filter cone.
To prolong the lifespan of your shellac flakes, store them in a dry, cool and dark environment.
