Add Drum Faucet - 3/4" Opening?: No

D/2 Biological Solution - 5 Gallon Pail - Free spigot if you need one!

Size: 5 Gallon Pail

The large cap on the 5 gallon pails is very tight. If you do not have a faucet, we highly recommend adding the reusable faucet. Puncture the spot where the faucet screws in, and screw faucet into place.  Otherwise, large pliers can be used to remove the entire cap.

D/2 Biological Solution is a biodegradable, easy to use liquid that removes stains from mold, algae, mildew, lichens and air pollutants. It is effective on marble, granite, limestone, brownstone, travertine, masonry, terra cotta, concrete, stucco, wood, and other architectural surfaces including monuments, sculpture and headstones. A contact time of only 10 to 15 minutes followed by scrubbing with a soft nylon or natural bristle brush will loosen most biological and air pollutant staining.

D/2 Biological Solution is effective for removing harmful biological and air pollutant staining from many building materials including masonry, marble, granite, limestone, brownstone, travertine, terra cotta, concrete, stucco, wood, canvas and vinyl & aluminum siding.

  • What kind of faucet to fit the cap

You can attach the Plastic Drum Faucet! This is an add-on option on this listing if you select 'Yes' above

  • Do you have any available application instructions or Technical Data Sheet on the D/2 product? Thank you.

  • How much would it be to ship a 5 gallon container of D/2 to the zip code 75801 (Palestine, TX)? Thank you.

The easiest way to find out shipping cost is to add the product(s) to your cart and go to through the checkout.
The shipping will be calculated and tell you the total before you pay.

  • Can the quart spray bottle of D2 Biological solution be used to refill the gallon solution?

Yes, I would advise to use a funnel when filling spray bottles.

  • What are the dimensions of a five gallon pail -- height diameter, and weight? I am trying to determine whether a short 68 year old woman can lift it onto a garage shelf. How difficult is attaching and using the spigot? To use the spigot, does the container need to be on its side? How do you support the round container? To get all of the product out of the container using the spigot, do you need to tilt it and have clearance to tilt it? Maybe you need to post a video of how the 5 gallon pail works, from installation through the final draining use, and the person in the video demonstrating needs to be a 5 foot 2 inch, 68 year old woman n her garage!!

Dimensions of the 5-gallon pail are 11" x 11" x 15" and weight is 45 pounds. We are planning to make a video demonstrating the installation of the spigot. You can use a blunt object to puncture the inner portion of the screw cap, and the spigot will screw right in. The pail will need to be on it's side in order to use the spigot and once you get to the end, you will have to tilt the container in order to drain all contents. I hope this helps and look out for a video coming soon!

  • Is there an "average" number of headstones (typical size - not large monuments) that can be cleaned with a 5 Gallon undiluted solution? I need to clean approx 50 headstones. Thanks!

The manufacturer specifications estimate coverage of 250-350 square feet per gallon. A 5 gallon container will do 1,250-1,750 square feet. The range depends on the porosity of the stone.
About 35 upright marble veteran tablet stones (like in Arlington National Cemetery) can be cleaned with 1 gallon of D/2 Biological Solution.

Great stuff - Works well

We’ve been using D-2 for years now and love it. It’s great for very old monuments that can’t be pressure washed. It takes a lot of elbow grease but is worth it for the end results

My four five gallon containers of D2 arrived as planned.

We'll begin using it to clean 119 veteran headstones at Lexington, Virginia's African American Evergreen Cemetery among many others.
