Creating your own antiqued mercury mirror is the ultimate upcycled before and after project. Any mirror surface can be artfully transformed with the Amy Howard at Home® Antique Mirror Stripper and Mirror Solution, even mirror insets. After completing the stripping and antiquing process, use One Step Paint or Furniture Lacquer to complete the effect.

Amy's Tip: Make sure you work in a well-ventilated area for this project!

In general, mirrors shipped from overseas do not use true silver and thus do not react appropriately to provide an antique mirror effect. Mirror Stripper and Mirror Solution only work on mirrors manufactured in the United States.
