QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
Is Tenax Domo10 a good choice to adhere a broken granite gravestone back together? What is a good option to fill a 2" hole where the granite broke away from the main halves?
Any one of our gravestone restoration epoxies will work well for this application. Akemi Akepox 5010 is the best epoxy to use for a broken stone.
To fill a 2" gap of missing stone, we recommend using Pratley Standard Setting Putty or the Akepox5010. The Akepox 5010 can be mixed with an Akemi Colorant in order to acheive the same color as the stone. You can also find granite the same color of the stone, and crush it by literally smashing it with a hammer then mixing the crushed stone with the Akepox 50101 (and colorant to fine tune the color).
Can this epoxy be used to repair broken stones?
Yes it could be used for this purpose, although it's not ideal. Because of the putty's thickness it will push the pieces apart and create a visible seam.
A better option for small unit/cheap epoxies for joining broken stones would be the Pratley clear, white, or steel epoxies.
If you're looking for larger quantities of epoxies we have many options from Akemi, Bellinzoni, Tenax, and Partley.
