Lancaster Lime Works Lime Putty must be mixed with the correct aggregate. This product contains no sand or aggregate.
Lancaster Lime Works Lime Putty has the following characteristics:
- High surface area of 540 sq.ft per gram
- PH of 12
- 98% Calcium and highly reactive
- Aged for at least twelve months
- No aggregate
- Meets ASTM C5
Lime Putty is the base ingredient to make many lime products. Add your own aggregate to make your own plaster, lime mortar, and limewash. Putty and Pigments when used in combination, make a stunning fresco! Add the proper amount of putty to fill the void space between sand particles.
If too much putty is added to sand, the putty pushes the sand particles apart and if not enough putty is added there is hollow/empty spaces. Adding too much or not enough putty to your sand will result in an inferior mortar with potential failure.
For small batches a beater attachment to a heavy duty angle drill makes the mixing much easier!
All ingredients sourced and made in the USA! Our lime putty is aged in the buckets. The buckets may have discoloration.
