Sarco Multi Glaze Putty - Type M - 1 Pint

Sarco is rated top window restoration putty!

  • Type M is designed for interior shop work
  • Type M is faster drying than Dual Glaze
  • Type M adheres in wood sash and door applications
  • Type M is generally softer than Dual Glaze. To stiffen it up, you can get it a little cold or add whiting so it is easier to work with. Some people lay the putty flat on cardboard to soak some of the oil out, however Type M is better with more oil in it

For glazing and bedding glass in both wood sash and doors. Ready for use and for easy application under the knife and thumb. A modern glazing compound that remains elastic. Allowing for normal expansion and contraction. Adheres to all glazing surfaces, forming a permanent watertight bond between the glass and sash.

Coverage: One pint of putty will cover 42 linear feet

Painting + Priming: If priming before applying Sarco, it is recommended to use an oil based primer. After Sarco has skinned, it may be painted with oil or latex paints.

  • Type M is designed for interior shop work. Does that mean I should NOT use it on exterior windows of my house?

Type M and Dual Glaze are very similar. Dual Glaze is recommended for use while the window is in place. Type M is recommended for use when taking the window out and glazing in a temperature controlled environment. This really only matters in the hot summer months when temperatures are very high. The Dual Glaze is designed to cure along with the warm weather, whereas Type M is faster to dry. If the weather is mild, you could use either while windows are in place or in a shop.
