Does it need to be a certain temperature outside to clean the stone? Will cleaning in high temps harm the stone?
You can use D/2 at any temperature as long as it is above freezing!
-
What do you suggest if you don’t want the grave marker to be so white after cleaning/time - dilute it? I’d like to clean one but still would like it to show some age.
Yes, we recommend diluting with water if you don't want as much cleaning power!

How many headstones can be cleaned using this set, assuming an average size headstone with two applications each? I am trying to find the right amount to send to a volunteer who lives near my a few of my ancestors' headstones (a 14-hour drive from my home). She volunteered to clean if I sent the set. Thanks for any info!
The two quarts of D/2 provided in the Small D/2 Biological Solution Set can be used to clean about 4-6 average size stones. If you are planning to do two full applications, then estimate about 2-3 stones!
-
How big is the Grab & Go Sprayer?
The dimensions are approximately 5" X 5" X 12"

Is there any difference in what types of stone the biological solution is safe for? All stones I need to clean are within 50 years old and are granite or marble
D/2 Biological Solution can be used on any type of stone or monument. It works great on granite and marble.

If it rains after cleaning a stone, will that affect how well the product get absorbed? Is there a recommended drying time?
We recommend applying at least 12 hours in advance of raining if possible. Otherwise you run the risk of diluting the solution before it can work its way into the pores of the stone.
-
If my bottle of d2 has been frozen will it still work?
Yes, even if D/2 freezes once it thaws it is perfect and fine to use!
-
I’m traveling from out of the area to a “family” cemetery so I will need to have products shipped. Do you just scrape, spray the solution on and leave it? Do you need to rinse anything?
Thanks!
We have instructions on the D/2 Cleaning Cards that are included with the kits! If you are brushing / scraping after applying the D/2 then you definitely want to rinse after. If you are not brushing or scraping, you can simply spray the D/2 and walk away. The D/2 will work over time to clean the stone!

What's considered a small stone? Is it enough to do a couple of headstones? Thanks
Yes, the 2 quarts of D/2 Biological Solution is more than enough for a couple headstones. Everything else in the set is re-usable.
"Small" is actually in the title of this because it is smaller than the other stone cleaning set we sell.
-
Can this be used on historic bricks?
Yes, D/2 can be used on historic bricks as long as the staining is due to biological activity such as mold, algae, mildew, etc. We also have a product called Heritage Restorer by EaCo Chem that can be used on historic surfaces.
-
What effect would this have on the pink granite?
D/2 works to effectively clean all stone, no matter the type or age and has never been documented to harm a stone! D/2 will not alter or change the stone in any way, and the original color of the stone will remain.
-
What if the stone you are cleaning isn’t white? Will it fade the stones color?
D/2 should not fade the natural color of any stone. It is pH neutral and has never been documented to harm a stone.
-
Stone is near a pine tree, beautiful spot but stone collects a lot of tree sap and bird droppings, will these products work for that, or what would you suggest?
D/2 may work to clean some of this type of staining, but we also recommend Akemi Acryclean to remove tree sap staining. As always, we recommend trying any new product on a small inconspicous area of your surface before full application!

For headstones that are really stained badly, do you think it would be beneficial to spray it down, let it sit over night and then come back the next day to finish cleaning?
You can certainly do this if you wish, but it is not necessary. The D/2 will seep into the pores of the stone and continue to clean over time regardless. Once you get the stone wet, you're good to brush and scrape as you wish, just remember to rinse with water while and after brushing. Happy Cleaning!
